Cora Connecton's name comes from the kora, a 21 string harp found throughout West Africa. Since relocating to Fort Worth, Texas in 2003, David Gilden has been introducing the kora to new audiences throughout the Metroplex. David Gilden has been playing the kora for over two decades and has traveled nine times to West Africa to study and document the Mandinka kora. This year marks his eighth appearance at Ft. Worth's Main Street Arts Festival. Guitarist and composer, Brady Mosher brings a true Texas flavor, having grown up listening to and playing country music and R&B. His exquisite guitar playing has been featured on stage and in the studio. Percussionist and drummer, Martin McCall has played his own style of drumming for over two decades here in the DFW area. He plays every imaginable style, from jazz fusion to Japanese Taiko Druming (with Kobushi). Currently he plays in the Irish group, Brothers 3 and several other local bands. Kora music provides the perfect ambience for a wide variety of events, from weddings to festivals. As you listen to the music samples you will be delighted with the beautiful sound of the kora and Dave's unique solo and ensemble performances. Also offered is an educational program, appropriate for students ranging from elementary through college levels. |

"The guitar blends effortlessly into the traditional African folk music that is played on the kora. Of course the Tex-Mex blues element never disappears..." Brady 'Mojine' Mosher
